School Council

We take pupil voice seriously at Faraday and like to include our pupils in the day-to-day running of the school. Having a school council promotes leadership skills and gives our pupils a sense of their own agency, which is fundamental to their future success. 

At Faraday our pupil leaders are called the Junior Leadership Team (JLT).

The JLT will meet with the SLT – the school’s Senior Leadership Team – to discuss many aspects of school life and changes they would like to put into place. The JLT have been responsible for introducing initiatives such as having recycling bins, a pyjama day to fundraise for charity and getting a pet for the whole school. 

The JLT has also been instrumental in promoting a sustainable travel banner competition and creating a play time rota for KS2, which involved liaising with the school staff. 

And, due to popular demand, the JLT reintroduced the Faraday Friendly Fox to promote kindness and friendship.
