The school values of Creativity, Curiosity and Community are the foundations of Faraday’s award achievements. They are a testament to the hard work and commitment from all the teaching staff and pupils and support from our parents.
ISA Award for Excellence in Fine Arts and Design
“Faraday Prep is a school with creativity at its core, where the teaching of art and design is innovative, interdisciplinary and experiential. Using the city of London as an extension of its classrooms the school encourages pupils to learn about the world through an artistic lens, fusing the teaching of art with other subjects, creating a window into different cultures and perspectives. Faraday Prep School offers incredible opportunities for children to work with professional artists and have their work exhibited, and pupils take part in a range of innovative projects, with many securing art scholarships. Teaching is imaginative and innovative, and the school’s art and design offering is outstanding.”
Faraday was named Independent Prep School of the Year 2024 by Independent School Parent Magazine and the Telegraph Media Group at an awards ceremony in central London on 8th October.
The awards were chaired by Dr Helen Wright and supported by independent judges, leading headteachers and representatives of the professional associations. Presenting our award, the judges praised Faraday’s commitment to innovation, our breadth of educational experiences and excellent pastoral care for our children. Mr Motion and Miss Drummonds were enormously proud to receive the award on behalf of the school community:
“It is heartening to see the hard work of everyone at the school acknowledged in this way and I would like to thank Faraday staff for their craft and commitment. Perhaps most importantly, this award reflects the wonderful community spirit that makes our school so special. We are immensely grateful to you, our parents, for your collaboration and support.”
The Week’s Best of the Best Prep Guide Awards Faraday Prep school ‘Great City Prep’
This forward-thinking prep school in East London is part of Trinity Buoy Wharf, a creative community on the bank of the River Thames.
The school, like the regenerated Wharf, has been reimagined in an innovative way that embraces heritage and modernity – pupils are taught in a mixture of historic buildings and shipping container classrooms, and a roof-top playground provides spectacular views of the Thames, the O2 arena and Faraday Lighthouse.
The Wharf is home to many household names in the arts, such as The Prince’s Foundation, English National Opera and The Big Draw and the school buzzes with the same spirit of artistic endeavour.
Collaborations take place every term, from pupils creating their own animations with Isle of Dogs and Fantastic Mr Fox filmmaker Tim Allen to learning alongside sculptor Ros Burgin, workshops with resident weaver Daniel Harris and taking part in Thames Heritage projects. with local artists.
It is no surprise that Faraday students have entered the Royal Academy Young Artists and The Fourth Plinth Awards.
