Creativity in all its forms is central to the ethos of Faraday.
Children learn to appreciate and value images and artefacts
across time and cultures and learn to understand the contexts in which they were made.
A creative vibe is felt as soon as you step through the school gate

In Art and Design, pupils reflect critically on their own and others’ work, judging quality and meaning. They learn to think and act as artists, craftspeople and designers, working creatively and intelligently. They develop an appreciation of art, craft and design, and their role in the creative and cultural industries that enrich their lives.
At Faraday School pupils have an arts-rich education and opportunities to work on projects with artists, perform and have their work exhibited
– Artsmark, Arts Council 2023
We aim to encourage the development of imagination, original thought and personal expression.
“Arts and culture are linked to wider learning opportunities, for example through the Thames Festival Bubble Town project which included history and geography.”
– Artsmark, Arts Council 2023.
For exceptionally talented artists, we offer a portfolio club to help pupils prepare for art scholarships. Our pupils are regularly offered art scholarships for senior school.

The best way to see the school in action is to book onto an open morning. These events last approximately an hour – you will have an opportunity to meet the Head and have a tour of the school led by the Year Six pupils. We look forward to welcoming you to Maple Walk soon.
