The Friends of Faraday have arranged BBQs, summer fetes and a film night, not just to raise money for the school, but also to give parents and children the chance to socialise, enhancing Faraday's friendly atmosphere and village school feel. As Faraday is a not-for-profit school, raising money is important and so far the Friends have purchased, staging for the school hall, PE team kit, headphones, class cameras, garden equipment and plants, kindles, tablets and laptops, storytelling sacks and large reading books to further ignite the children's passion for reading.
An annual book fair is held and this has raised well over £1000 in commission. By expanding Faraday's library, these funds have helped to keep up with the children's appetite for new books that can be read both in the classroom and at home.
The Friends have also organised annual Christmas cards and a "We are Writers" project, enabling the children to see their creative efforts in print and offering parents a lasting memory of their child's time with Faraday. New parents are always welcome and the Friends of Faraday is set to grow with each new Reception intake.
