The Arts

“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on” – Albert Einstein

At Faraday School creativity is at our core.  We aim to inspire a love of learning and this desire to explore, grow and create will stay with our pupils for life. Our lessons stretch, challenge and engage pupils of all abilities and interests.

We present children with great literature, music and works of art to help them acquire an increased understanding of the world in which they live and build a thorough understanding of knowledge in each subject. As such, our curriculum is broad and stimulating, and we give children of all ages ample time to explore the arts with weekly lessons in art, DT, music and drama.

Our school is particularly fortunate, because we are located in the thriving artistic community of Trinity Buoy Wharf. We work with various artists on the Wharf and value being able to collaborate on projects taking place within the Wharf community.

In art and design, pupils learn to think and act as artists, craftspeople and designers; working imaginatively and developing an appreciation of art and its role in the creative and cultural industries that enrich their lives. We aim to encourage the development of imagination, original thought and personal expression across the arts curriculum and there are also after-school drama, music, art, animation and DT throughout the week.

We have specialist teachers for art, music and drama and there are opportunities to learn a range of musical instruments.
