Year 3's Visit to the Old Royal Navy College
On Wednesday, Year 3 visited the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. Our trip started with a visit to the chapel, where we spotted many 2D and 3D shapes as well as discussing the patterns and symmetry we could see it was an incredibly ornate chapel.
Next, we looked outside at the symmetry of the Old Royal Naval College, designed by Christopher Wren. We noticed some things that were not perfectly symmetrical though! Followed by a visit to the Clore Learning Centre to design our own symmetrical patterns, which was great fun. After lunch we went on a trail around the grounds and searched for the sea gate, a canon, statues and Poseidon! After which, we played a game of Victorian Bowls in the bowling alley the Victorian sailors used to use. Mrs Lee and Miss Valerie even got a chance to play. Our visit finished with a visit to the Visitor Centre where we learnt more about the Old Royal Naval College, played games, dressed up and sat in the Greenwich Pensioners rooms. We have decided that this was the best trip ever!
