We Shall Remember

The School Council delivered a poignant assembly to the whole school this week to commemorate World War 1.

Their Remembrance Day tribute included a powerpoint presentation, where they explained why it is important we remember those that have died in conflict.

They also explained why we wear poppies.

Poppies were the first flowers to grow through the mud in a war-torn field in Flanders, Belgium, next to the site of one of the major battle grounds of WW1.

The School Council ended their presentation by leading the whole school in an extract of the poem For the Fallen by Robert Laurence Binyon.

The full poem can be found here.
